Arts Council Calls for Volunteers!

Do you have a few hours to spare and want to use that time being more engaged in your local arts community? The Arts Council of White Lake-Nuveen Center is looking for you! The ACWL-Nuveen has a very small staff so they rely on loyal volunteers to pull off all the diverse programming they provide for the White Lake community. They are incredibly grateful for the time and effort their multi-generational volunteers have contributed to their organization, some of which have been with the ACWL-Nuveen since its inception 39 years ago! Their volunteers help in so many ways: from brainstorming and executing fundraisers, to labeling envelopes, to concert parking wrangling!

To learn more about the ways that you can volunteer please read the description of the various ACWL-Nuveen committees below. If you are interested in joining a committee or being a general events volunteer, please fill out this form. ACWL-Nuveen Director Erin Peyer will follow-up with more information after you complete the interest form.

Art Walk – The Art Walk Committee is charged with the maintenance and enhancement of the Art Walk. Currently, they are working to make repairs on various sculptures and develop a landscaping plan for public artworks along the bike trail.

Membership – The Membership Committee serves to promote the ACWL-Nuveen, to support the community and the arts, and to emphasize the benefits of membership. The Membership Committee meets monthly and hosts a patron party in May and the annual Membership Dinner in September.

Fundraising – The fundraising committee organizes their various fundraisers throughout the year: Garden Art Adventure, Summer Solstice Wine Tasting, Wreath Fundraiser, etc.

Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI) – The DEI committee works to evaluate ACWL-Nuveen programming through a DEI lens and to ensure events and classes are accessible to all.

Gallery – The gallery committee works with ACWL-Nuveen staff to ensure the retail gallery is inviting and easy to peruse. They are also working to create more community amongst current ACWL-Nuveen Artist Members and to develop professional development opportunities.

Concert Crew – Volunteers on the concert crew help direct parking, collect donations and assist with the free craft activity during the Free Summer Concert Series.

The Arts Council of White Lake - Nuveen Center works to inspire the White Lake community through accessible and engaging opportunities in the arts.
