CatchMark Community and CatchMark SportsNet to End General Coverage After Seven Years

End General Coverage

For the past seven years, it has been one of our greatest joys and privileges to serve our community through CatchMark Community and CatchMark SportsNet.

These platforms grew from CatchMark’s mission to solve problems and help people. We saw a community filled with remarkable people, talented student-athletes, dedicated coaches, hardworking leaders and meaningful stories that deserved to be told. We believed those stories mattered, so we worked to give them a home.

Over the years, CatchMark invested countless hours, hundreds of thousands of dollars and an incredible amount of love and passion into our community and its stories. This was never simply about producing content. It was about showing up on the sidelines, in gymnasiums, at community events and during moments of celebration and hardship. It was about recognizing people, preserving memories and shining a light on what makes our community special.

What is changing

With mixed emotions, we are announcing the discontinuation of regular, general community news and sports coverage through CatchMark Community and CatchMark SportsNet. This is the part of our work that is ending.

Our digital platforms will remain online. The articles, broadcasts, photographs and other stories captured during the past seven years will continue to be available, preserving the memories and moments our team was honored to document.

What will continue

This change does not affect our existing streaming contracts, paid content arrangements, paid projects or other contracted services. Every current contractual commitment will remain in place and will continue to be fulfilled.

That includes CatchMark’s streaming contract with the City of Whitehall. Our platforms will remain active for the City of Whitehall work and for other paid or contracted content. We want our clients, partners and community members to understand this distinction clearly: general coverage is ending, but contracted and paid services are continuing.

Why we are making this decision

We did not make this decision lightly. CatchMark has reached a point where we need to focus our time, energy and resources on our core technology services business. It is the right decision for the long-term health and future of our company, but that does not make closing this chapter any less emotional.

This decision is not a reflection of the value of the stories we covered or the quality and dedication of the people who made these platforms possible. We remain incredibly proud of what CatchMark Community and CatchMark SportsNet became and of the positive impact they had throughout the area.

A heartfelt thank you

To everyone who trusted us with a story, welcomed us to an event, watched a broadcast, read an article, shared a post or encouraged our team, thank you. To the athletes, coaches, schools, organizations, businesses, families and community members who allowed us to be part of your lives, thank you.

We are also deeply grateful to every member of the CatchMark team who contributed to this work. The late nights, early mornings, weekend events and countless hours behind the scenes gave these platforms their credibility, heart and connection to the community.

These platforms meant a great deal to many people, and they meant a great deal to us as well. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for following, watching, reading and allowing us to tell your stories for the past seven years. It has truly been an honor.

Our commitment remains

Although this chapter is ending, CatchMark’s commitment to our community is not. We will continue to solve problems, help people and give back to the community that has supported us. That commitment remains central to who we are. It will simply look different in the future.
