Luna Floral & Design Closing Storefront, But Not Its Heart for the White Lake Community

After four years of heartfelt service, community connection, and creative floral design, Luna Floral & Design is closing the doors to its brick-and-mortar storefront in Montague. While the physical location will no longer be open after Friday, March 28, the spirit of Luna—and its founder, Vanessa Page—continues to bloom in new directions.

A Dream Rooted in Community

Luna Floral & Design began as a dream long before the storefront opened. Vanessa started working with flowers in 2015 under a florist in Spring Lake. Her journey took a turn when she enrolled in college to pursue a career in healthcare. Then came COVID, a season that prompted reflection—and ultimately, inspiration. Vanessa’s mom encouraged her to take the leap and open a flower shop, and Luna Floral & Design was born.

From the beginning, the business was about more than flowers. “My favorite part wasn’t even within the four walls of the shop,” Vanessa says. “It was the events—doing weddings, funerals, Easter egg hunts, Trunk or Treat, and just being present in the moments that matter to people.”

A Village Behind the Vision

The White Lake community played a vital role in supporting Luna through the years. “Whether it was sponsoring our Adopt-A-Senior program, showing up at our events, or simply sharing a Facebook post—those things mattered,” Vanessa reflects. “Word of mouth kept us going.”

Luna wasn’t just a flower shop—it became a hub for giving back. From collecting food and blankets during events, to partnering with local schools and senior programs, Luna consistently poured love back into the community.

A Bittersweet Goodbye

The decision to close the storefront was not made lightly. Vanessa shared that 2024 was one of their most challenging years financially. Combined with the blessing of expecting another child and the need for maternity leave coverage, keeping the storefront open became unsustainable. “If I could be here, maybe we could’ve kept going. But hiring someone to cover me isn’t something the business can support right now.”

While the closure brings sadness, it also opens the door to something new. “This has been my dream for over ten years, so it’s hard,” Vanessa says, her voice cracking with emotion. “But I’m also excited to be a stay-at-home mom to my boys and see what’s next.”

What’s Next for Luna Floral & Design?

Luna isn’t disappearing—it’s just transforming. Vanessa plans to continue fulfilling wedding contracts and offering pop-up floral classes and seasonal events, such as her popular wreath-making workshops. She’s also exploring collaborations with other local businesses and may offer her work under a different business umbrella in the future.

Stay connected through Luna’s Facebook page, which Vanessa will transition into a personal page for updates on upcoming events, collaborations, and a brand-new YouTube vlog she plans to launch after the store closes.

A Lasting Legacy of Love and Giving

Looking back, Vanessa is most proud of Luna’s impact on the community. Whether it was collecting hundreds of pounds of food for the local pantry through the Easter egg hunt or coordinating the Adopt-A-Senior program for assisted living residents, Luna has left a legacy of compassion.

Vanessa also treasured her hands-on work with the Montague FFA program, where she taught floral design to students. She hopes to continue supporting that partnership and even dreams of continuing the Adopt-A-Senior initiative by teaming up with another florist.

A Final Thank You

“To the White Lake community—thank you,” Vanessa said through emotion. “You’ve allowed me to be part of your lives, and I’ll never forget that. This chapter may be closing, but the friendships, the memories, and the love you’ve shown me will always remain.”

Luna Floral & Design may no longer have a physical storefront, but its roots in the community run deep—and its blossoms will continue to appear in unexpected and beautiful ways.
