Middle School Student Cited for Vape Possession – May 14
A 15-year-old was issued a citation for minor in possession after a vape was found in her computer case. The middle school principal acted on a tip from another student. The device was turned over at 9:30 a.m., and her parents were notified before the SRO issued the citation.

High School Threat Turned Over to School – May 14
At 3:14 p.m., school officials called police after a student reported being threatened by a peer. A 14-year-old girl allegedly threatened a 15-year-old boy. The incident involved three students. After speaking with the victim, police turned the matter over to the school for further action.

Inappropriate Contact Reported at Massage Parlor – May 14
A Montague man reported being inappropriately touched during a session at a massage parlor on S Division St. Whitehall Police have opened an investigation into the incident, which remains ongoing.

Suspended License Leads to Traffic Stop – May 14
An officer ran a license plate of a car parked near White Lake and found the owner had a suspended license. Later, at 10:07 p.m., the vehicle was seen near Blank Road. The 24-year-old Whitehall Township driver was cited for Driving While License Suspended (DWLS).

Runaway Teen Escapes Again at School – May 15
Police were called at 3:05 p.m. by a parent trying to recover her runaway 14-year-old. The teen fled on foot from Whitehall Middle School as the mother arrived. The teen was already listed as a runaway with the Muskegon County Sheriff, and police could not locate him.

Storm Strands Vehicle on Fallen Branch – May 15
A 48-year-old Montague driver was stranded after her car became lodged on a large fallen branch on Division Street. Officers responded at 10:12 p.m. The undercarriage was caught, but no damage was found. The driver had already called a tow truck, and no further action was needed.

Boat Breaks Loose in Windstorm – May 17
Whitehall Police investigated a boating incident at 10:13 a.m. A boat broke free during a storm and collided with several other boats and docks on Lake Street. Two boats sustained visible damage. The rest had minor marks from the repeated impacts.

Suspicious Vehicle in Cemetery – May 17
Officers responded at 2:52 p.m. to a report of a suspicious vehicle at Oakhurst Cemetery. The vehicle was found empty, but the driver was located nearby playing in the creek with his children. There was no issue, and no further action was required.

Officer Assists Fallen Resident – May 18
At 8:48 a.m., an officer found a woman on the ground near a driveway on Robinwood Dr. She had fallen retrieving her newspaper. The officer helped her up and safely inside. No injuries were reported.

Scam Text Message Reported – May 18
A resident contacted police after receiving a text threatening license suspension over an unpaid toll. The officer recognized it as a scam and advised the resident to avoid clicking links and ignore such messages.

Mailbox Prank Sparks Argument – May 18
Police were called at 5:58 p.m. to a dispute on Main Street. A man told his mother-in-law he had run over the mailbox as a joke. She took it seriously, and the disagreement escalated. There was no physical contact, and both parties agreed to separate for the evening.

Suspicious Trash Bag Report – May 20
At 9:12 p.m., a Colby Street resident reported someone entered his unlocked apartment while he napped. He claimed the only thing touched was a trash bag, which was moved but not removed. Nothing was stolen, and no one was seen. The case was closed.
