Youth Artists Get Lost in Space!

Over 100 community members visited the ACWL-Nuveen on Saturday November 9th to celebrate the 59 youth artists from 7 local schools who are currently exhibiting their artwork in ACWL-Nuveen’s annual Fall into the Arts exhibit. The artwork in this year’s show, sponsored by Ferguson Family Dentistry, was prompted by the theme – “Discovering Space”. The idea of space generated some dynamic drawings, paintings and mixed media sculptures. The high-quality artwork reflects the skilled instruction from the following participating teachers: Stacy Vandenbosch – Shoreline Elementary, Amy Spicer – Whitehall Middle School, Robin Latsch – Fruitport Middle School, Chip Vanderwier – North Muskegon Middle & High School, Alyssa Bernardi – Montague High School, Tony Sigmon – Whitehall High School, and Craig Olsen and Jeff Hellmann – Reeths-Puffer High School.

ACWL-Nuveen hopes you will stop by before December 17 to see this impressive show and support these aspiring artists and their school arts programs. There are donation boxes next to each of the school’s displays and you can also donate online here. Gallery hours are Tuesday – Friday, 11:00am – 5:30pm and Saturday from 11:00am – 3:00pm. We are located at 106 E. Colby, downtown Whitehall. 231-893-2524.

The Arts Council of White Lake - Nuveen Center works to inspire the White Lake community through accessible and engaging opportunities in the arts.
