The Arts Council of White Lake – Nuveen (ACWL-Nuveen) offers accessible arts programming for all ages – and a group of generous donors are matching every dollar given until they reach their campaign goal of $30,000. Some of the community-enriching benefits ACWL-Nuveen provides include:
✨💖✨ Students engaged in arts learning have higher GPAs and standardized test scores; they’re also more likely to attend college and less likely to drop out. And creativity is among the top five applied skills sought by business leaders.
✨💖✨ What makes a place special is more than just one shop, one brewery, one landmark. It’s the way businesses and non-profits work together to offer their patrons an exceptional experience. ACWL-Nuveen is proud to be a retail space for over 35 regional artists (a.k.a. small businesses) and to offer cultural opportunities for residents and visitors–like concerts, exhibits, and classes. They’ve partnered on events with Montague Foods, Fetch Brewing, Greenridge Realty, Hanson Hill, North Grove Brewers, The Playhouse at White Lake, Montague Tree Farms, White Lake Community Library, and many, many more.
✨💖✨Mental health and physical health are inseparable from one another, which is why so many healthcare institutions provide arts programming for patients. Making artwork can lower cortisol levels, reduce cognitive impairment, and help people cope with mental and emotional distress. And the negative effects of social isolation can be reduced by engaging with art classes, open studio, exhibits, concerts, and more.
