Oscar-Nominated Short Films To Come to White Lake

It’s awards season and that means film fans everywhere will be asking themselves one question as they fill out their Oscar pool ballots: What short films should they pick to win the golden statuette? While most nominated feature films are available to watch in theaters or on streaming platforms, short films can be trickier to track down.

But West Michigan film lovers can breathe a collective sigh of relief and make an informed choice when filling out their ballots because the Oscar-nominated Live Action Shorts and Documentary Shorts programs will screen at the Arts Council of White Lake – Nuveen (ACWL-Nuveen).

On Thursday, February 27 at 6PM, ACWL-Nuveen will screen the Documentary Shorts program and, on Friday, February 28 at 6PM, they’ll screen the Live Action Shorts program. The nominations will be announced on Thursday, January 23 and tickets will be made available on ACWL-Nuveen’s website in the coming weeks. In the meantime, you can get a taste of the truly innovative filmmaking offered by short filmmakers by watching this pre-nominations trailer:
