Each summer, the Arts Council of White Lake – Nuveen (ACWL-Nuveen) hosts their biggest fundraiser of the year and boy, was this year’s event BIG! For the first time ever, the Summer Solstice Celebration Wine Tasting Fundraiser was sold out! Held on Friday, June 20, attendees were able to sample up to 8 premium wines, enjoy a variety of delicious handmade foods, try unique non-alcoholic beverages, and spend a beautiful evening outdoors enjoying live music by Acoustic Oasis.
The ACWL-Nuveen fundraising committee, chaired by the unstoppable Alice Gambel, organized a truly wonderful evening. A special shout-out to the food crew: Joni Christensen, JoAnn Hulce, and Cindy Peterson, as well as volunteer coordinator Pat Engblade and the Attic Art team: Chris Jones and Kathy Rogers. Many thanks to them, the sponsors, countless volunteers, attendees, and Montague Foods for making it happen. Because of the hard work, creativity, and dedication of so many people, over $8,000 was raised to support accessible and engaging arts opportunities in the White Lake community and beyond.
