As the crisp air and golden colors of October settle over Oceana County, eight unique shops are rolling out the autumn red carpet for the 4th Annual Autumn Country Roads Shop Hop. On Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., shoppers can explore the scenic backroads, discover hidden gems, and soak in all the warmth and charm that fall in West Michigan has to offer.
A Homegrown Tradition with Heart
The Shop Hop began in 2020 at Abundant Blessings Gifts & Art in New Era. Owners Ruthie and Tom Eilers built their cozy log cabin shop from hemlock trees on their 40 acres. What started as a farm stand and artisan gift shop blossomed into something bigger than Ruthie ever imagined.
“I began offering watercolor classes in the shop, then invited other local artists to host workshops. That has really become the heart of Abundant Blessings,” Ruthie shared. “Now we focus on art parties, group events, and private workshops, and of course, this Shop Hop that continues to grow every year.”
Abundant Blessings truly embodies its name: a place of Heart, Art, and Friends. For this year’s event, they’ll welcome visitors with live guitar music by Frank Galante (11 a.m.–2 p.m.), along with hot cider, gourmet coffee, and the county’s best edible delights.
Eight Shops, Endless Autumn Treasures
Each participating shop has its own style and seasonal flair, making the day-long adventure as diverse as it is delightful:
- Abundant Blessings Gifts & Art (New Era) – Artisan gifts, watercolor art, handmade treasures, and live music.
- Claybanks Pottery (New Era) – A beloved gallery and studio featuring one-of-a-kind pottery.
- Crosby Farm Market (Hart) – Autumn produce, florals, and vintage holiday treasures.
- The Garden Shed (Montague) – Fresh bouquets, seasonal produce, and handcrafted home décor.
- Merten’s Farmhouse Market (Hart) – Farm-fresh meats, baked goods, yard décor, and pies.
- On the Farm (Mears) – An eclectic mix of antiques, dried flowers, herbal body care, and holiday décor.
- Pole Barn and a Passion (Hart) – Vintage, antique, and unique finds, perfect for treasure hunters.
- The Secret Garden at Moondancers Meadow (Shelby) – A vintage barn full of home décor, florals, and baked goods.
At every stop, visitors can expect samples of homemade treats, hot drinks, artisan creations, and even early Christmas décor—all with the warm, small-town hospitality that makes this event so special.

A Prize-Filled Autumn Adventure
The Shop Hop is not only a feast for the senses but also a chance to win. Shoppers who visit all eight stops and have their orange flyer initialed will be entered into a drawing for one of eight $25 gift certificates. The drawing takes place at 8:00 p.m. on event day, with winners announced on the “Autumn Country Roads Shop Hop” Facebook page.
Past visitors have traveled from across the state—and even as far as Pennsylvania—to enjoy this event. Whether you’re making it a quick day trip or a leisurely tour, the Shop Hop is a perfect way to spend 4–7 hours exploring the beauty of West Michigan’s autumn countryside.
More Than Shopping—It’s Community
For Ruthie, this event is more than just a fun day of shopping. It’s about celebrating everything that makes West Michigan unique:
- Its rural beauty and charm.
- The little off-the-beaten-path enterprises that bring joy and surprise.
- The strong sense of community that makes small-town life so rich.
“It’s so much fun to see carloads of friends, smiling and laughing, enjoying the day together,” Ruthie said. “That’s really what this is all about—sharing autumn joy.”
