The historic 90702 Caboose, located behind the White Lake Area Chamber & Visitors Bureau in Whitehall, is turning 100 years old this year! With a century of a history, we will be throwing a “Caboosentennial” party in September!
The caboose has been parked in its spot since 1987 and has become the backdrop for many special moments. From senior portraits to wedding shoots, engagement sessions to family gatherings, the caboose has witnessed and enhanced cherished memories for generations.
To celebrate its centennial, we are inviting individuals to contribute their caboose-themed photographs to help create a compilation of 100 images for 100 years. These photos will be showcased both online via social media and displayed at the Caboosentennial event in September.
Please email images to info@whitelake.org with the subject line “Caboose Turns 100”. By submitting images, participants grant permission for them to be utilized for promotional purposes related to the Caboosentennial event and shared on official White Lake Area Chamber & Visitors Bureau social media channels.
About the 90702 Caboose & Caboosentennial
This caboose was purchased in 1987 from the Muskegon Railroad Historical Society for $1000. In 2009, the community came together to make it a caboose museum, per Helen Fink’s vision. Event details will be available in the coming weeks, but save the date for Sunday, September 15 (September 22 rain date)!
