Press Release: ‘Tis the Season in the White Lake Area

Kick off the holiday season at the 31st annual Holiday Walk, presented by the White Lake Area Chamber & Visitors Bureau. This year’s Holiday Walk takes place the weekend of November 22nd (2pm – 8pm) & 23rd (10am – 4pm) along the streets of Montague and Whitehall.  

Holiday Open Houses
Shop local while enjoying the downtown (and surrounding area) businesses annual holiday open houses featuring gift guides, special sales, refreshments, and a whole lot of holiday cheer! Come visit with Santa Claus and see if you made the nice list this year (fingers crossed). Grab your family and friends to experience the magic of the holiday season in the White Lake Area.  

Tree Lightings
Montague and Whitehall will have individual tree lighting ceremonies on Friday night (November 22). Gather at 5pm at The Artisan Market Village on Water Street in Montague for a countdown and lighting at 5:30pm. Whitehall festivities are at the North Mears Promenade starting at 6pm and culminating with the lighting at 6:30pm. Both towns will have caroling from the schools, visits with Santa, and complimentary hot cocoa thanks to our Bronze Sponsor: HarborLight Credit Union. Children of all ages are invited to put their home-made or store-bought ornament on the community tree of their choice. Be sure to check out make-and-take ornament events at participating businesses.   

Carriage Rides

Old-fashioned carriage rides await you in both Montague and Whitehall on Friday (November 22) from 5pm – 8pm. Line up in Montague at The Artisan Market, and line up in Whitehall in the N Mears Promenade, across from Fetch Brewing Company. These carriage rides are free to all, courtesy of Gold Sponsors: Aludyne and Scheid Plumbing, Heating & Cooling.  

Trolley Rides

On Saturday (November 23) from 11am to 3pm, a Trolley transports you to and from any of our participating merchants throughout Montague and Whitehall. The trolley will pick up and drop off at The Artisan Market in Montague, but participants can wave the trolley down when they see it around town and choose to stop at any participating business. These trolley rides are free to all, courtesy of Silver Sponsor: Elite Air Heating & Cooling, Rant Insurance Group, and White Lake Beacon.

CatchMark Community Product Lead Amy Yonkman joined the CatchMark team in 2021 as an office assistant. She quickly became project manager for the Digital Marketing and Media service, and is now the CatchMark Community Product Lead. Amy’s background includes working in preschool classrooms, hospitality, and customer service.
