Whitehall, MI – The American Legion Post 69 is inviting the community to join them for an evening of fun, food, and live music at their End of Summer Fundraiser on Friday, September 26, from 6 to 11 p.m. at 803 E. Colby St., Whitehall.
This community event is open to the public and will help raise funds for a much-needed project: replacing the roof of the Legion building. The total cost of the new roof is estimated at $50,000, and while temporary repairs have bought some time, the Legion is now focused on raising the full amount needed.
Event Highlights
- Admission: $10 per person (includes food and three raffle tickets)
- Food: Hot dogs and brats with a variety of toppings including sauerkraut, chili, peppers, and onions
- Entertainment: Live music from the Bent Carrot Band
- Raffles & Auctions: 50/50 drawings, raffles, and auctions throughout the night
- Drinks: Cash bar available
Guests are encouraged to wear their favorite Hawaiian shirts to celebrate summer’s end in style.
Supporting a Cause That Serves Veterans
American Legion Post 69 is a non-profit organization serving veterans, active service members, and their families. Fundraisers like this are crucial to maintaining the building that supports their mission.
This will be the Legion’s second major fundraiser for the roof project. Last fall, they hosted a successful Flannel Fest, which brought the community together for a similar evening of food, fun, and fellowship.
All proceeds from the End of Summer Fundraiser will go directly toward the roof replacement fund. In addition, the Legion is currently accepting donations for auction items, providing another way for community members and businesses to lend their support.
