Happy first day of fall, White Lake! As of Monday, September 22, the season has officially arrived—and in Whitehall and Montague, autumn isn’t just another season. It’s a burst of color, flavor, and tradition that makes our corner of Lake Michigan come alive.
A Season Painted in Color
Our roads, trails, and waterfronts transform into a masterpiece this time of year. A drive along Old Channel Trail toward Lake Michigan is especially stunning, with trees arching overhead in fiery reds, golden yellows, and bright orange hues. The White River sparkles with reflections of autumn color, and the shores of White Lake glow with trees dressed in their fall best. Even a simple stroll downtown feels different this season—crisp air, cozy sweaters, and that unmistakable smell of fall.
Can you hear it? The crunch of leaves underfoot. Can you taste it? The sweet cider and warm donuts. This is fall at White Lake, and it’s magic.
