Scottville Lower Elementary second-graders sing anthem at big girls basketball game

Students from Tawnya Miller’s and Jim Allen’s classrooms perform well in front of a packed gymnasium.

SCOTTVILLE — Spectators attending Friday night’s key West Michigan Conference Rivers Division girls basketball game between Hart and Mason County Central were expecting a good show.

Little did many of them know, they were going to receive some bonus entertainment.

Scottville Lower Elementary second-graders from the classrooms of Tawnya Miller and Jim Allen sang the National Anthem prior to the contest. And, boy, did they deliver — in front of a packed gymnasium, no less.

Watch the video above to see and hear the second-graders sing and check out the photos below.

In the game, visiting Hart defeated Mason County Central, 44-36, to take complete control of the WMC Rivers Division title race.
