White Lake Area Chamber Seeks Nominations for Lady Laker & El Awards

The White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce is now accepting nominations for two of its honors — the Lady Laker and the El Award.

Lady Laker Award, sponsored by Don Rypma Chevrolet GMC, recognizes a female professional who has made an exceptional impact in the White Lake Area community, particularly through mentoring and inspiring future leaders.

The El Award, sponsored by Pitkin Gift Shoppe and Shelby State Bank, honors an outstanding male professional who has been a positive influence in the community, actively involved in local organizations and connected to the business community. This award is given in memory of Eleanor Polley, a former Chamber Executive Director.

All nominees must demonstrate outstanding service and a positive, supportive attitude. Nominations are due by September 30, 2025, and forms are available at www.whitelake.org under “Events.

While additional awards — including Entrepreneur of the Year (sponsored by Fetch Brewing Company), Legacy Award (sponsored by Dennis & Sharon Blankenship), Board of Director Awards (sponsored by White Lake Beacon), and other honorary awards (sponsored by Scheid Plumbing, Heating & Cooling) — will also be presented at the Annual Dinner, only the Lady Laker and El Awards are open to public nominations. We look forward to recognizing all award recipients publicly after our Annual Dinner.

Award recipients will be announced at the White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner on Monday, October 20, 2025, at the Curly Horse American Bistro at Double JJ Resort, Rothbury.
